WEBPAGES vs BLOGS

What is the Difference between a Blog and a Webpage?
I never really thought about it until this class, but after reading numerous web searches I found:

"The Blog Structure vs Traditional Web Design"

After reading the article it made a lot of sense the difference between the two.  For instance some things you should consider before choosing one or the other are, your target audience, information you would like to display, and is this something you want people to comment about on your page or read for informational purposes. From this site I have learned there are 3 main categories when you need to decipher between creating a web page or a blog.

1.  Web Page

When creating a web page you can be more creative, the site uses the example of, "the traditional web design model is in some ways similar to a book."  Which I agree there are so many parts, your home page, that catches your attention.  Then you have to add the storyline, what do you want your viewer to gain from looking at your site, and finally there's an ending, if the information you put on your site accomplished it's goal then you can add a comments page or contact page, but you have to put them in the correct format to catch the (viewers) attention.

2. Blogs

Now, going from a web page to a blog, a blog is like a poem, make it short and sweet, grab your viewer's attention as soon as they see your page and end with them lingering for more.  This makes the viewers want to comment so you they can get more information or express the way your words made them feel or think.  Sometimes it's not always what you want, but that makes things interesting at times and with you being the author you always have the choice of deleting!!!

3. Hybrid Design

Lastly you have what's called the "Hybrid Design"  this of course combines the two.  You take a large section of your book, get all the main details out and divide them into subcategories to grab the view at each point, creating many short stories that can be navigated on many pages and links.
